Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded: garment export companies need to pay attention to hidden materials

The newspaper (Reporter Cui Ningning correspondent Feng Shan, Liu Liming) recently issued a warning notice by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ). China's export of garments was caused by the failure of the garment accessories safety project to be returned and notified by foreign companies. One of the production companies also received compensation for bankruptcy. The Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded export garment enterprises that they should pay attention to the quality and safety of garment accessories and avoid economic losses.

According to briefings, in the two returns, together with the baby girl cotton sweaters exported to the United States, the company has added a small amount of pearlescent pulp containing basic lead carbonate to produce pearl buttons. Total lead exceeds the value of the "Consumer Goods Improvement Act of the United States" and was returned for shipment; the Other was a children's nylon jacket exported to the European Union. The company did not test the product's sewing thread as required. 69.9 was found in the gray sewing thread after the product was exported. Ppm of tetra-aminoazobenzene, which was notified beyond the limits of the EU's banned azo dyes, was incurring bankruptcy.

Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau believes that these two incidents reflect the recent increase in the supervision of the quality and safety of accessories such as buttons and sewing threads in Europe and the United States. Shenzhen is one of the major processing bases for export garments. Since the beginning of this year, garment exports in Shenzhen have increased rapidly. In the first three quarters of this year, 49,000 batches of garments were exported, valued at US$2.3 billion, and the value of goods grew by 139.2% compared with the same period of last year. In order to prevent enterprises from suffering economic losses due to the quality problems of garment accessories, Shenzhen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminds Shenzhen garment processing enterprises that they need to increase the quality and safety management and control of garment accessories and strictly follow the technical requirements of exporting countries to organize production.
